VANCOUVER, BC. — Plant-based seafood company Konscious Foods is adding to its foodservice portfolio with more than 10 new products.

The frozen offerings include salmon and tuna blocks; salmon and tuna poke cubes; California, salmon avocado, tuna avocado and rainbow sushi rolls; kale gomae, Japanese vegetable curry, roasted corn and poblano and Korean barbecue mushroom onigiri dishes; and a crab alternative pack. Each product is designed for operators seeking sustainable and operationally efficient seafood options.

“Foodservice presents many options for us to make impact at scale in 2024,” said Yves Potvin, founder and president of Konscious Foods. “We are on a mission to help consumers embrace a more plant-based and sustainable diet by breaking the barriers to entry in this category — such as taste and affordability. By bringing our beloved products to more distribution channels, we know more people will be able to embrace a plant-forward lifestyle.”

The additions follow the company’s $26 million seed funding round to expand its retail and foodservice businesses earlier this year. Konscious also launched a series of frozen sushi rolls, poke bowls and onigiri-stuffed rice snacks for retail in July.

“We also know how overworked and understaffed many of America’s kitchens and cafeterias are,” Mr. Potvin said. “With our proprietary ‘Thaw & Serve’ design, we can save significant labor costs and time, while also cutting down on food waste by extending shelf-life.”
